This procedure improves the midfacial contour and sagging jowls, or it can create higher cheek bones for a more elegant look.


What to Expect:

The procedure can be done individually in our Plano surgical center under sedation anesthesia or as part of a larger reconstructive surgery at Presbyterian Hospital. The 1 to 1 1/2 inch incision for the chin augmentation is usually placed in the crease beneath the chin or inside the mouth (beneath the lower gum line). The implant is placed into the chin pocket and anchored in place with permanent suture to prevent dislocation. Extended tails on the implant may be used to fill in the indentations on either side of the chin.


What You Will Notice:

Chin augmentation reshapes and/or increases the size of the chin for better projection and appearance. Proportions and balance often determine our perception of facial beauty. Chin augmentation can balance the profile by extending the chin in relationship to the nose making you more proportioned and more beautiful.
