Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)

Before & After photo Nose Surgery

The Problem:

Nose is asymmetrical or deviated, is too large in relation to the other facial structures, the bridge is too wide, nostrils are large, wide, or upturned, or has visible humps or depressions on the bridge.

How Rhinoplasty Fixes the Problem:

Rhinoplasty can reduce the overall size of your nose, narrow the tip, remove a bump, narrow or widen the width, or even improve the angle between the nose and the upper lip. Sometimes, breathing problems can be relieved.

What to Expect:

Working from inside the nose, the bones and cartilage are modified and reshaped. A bump can be reduced or totally eliminated. The sides of the nose can be brought closer together to make the nose narrower. The tip can be made smaller and also lifted to enhance it appearance. When a large, oversized nose is made smaller, sometimes the nostrils are also reduced in size. Unbalanced, crooked, or curved noses can be straightened and made more symmetrical.

After surgery, a splint is placed on the nose to maintain the new shape and to protect it for the first week. Most people return to work within a week, and makeup can be used to cover any bruises. Bruising around your eyes starts to fade within a couple of days and disappears totally within a few weeks.

What You Will Notice:

The results will be immediate and dramatic if your nose was very large or if a big hump was removed, but usually the changes are less dramatic. Friends may tell you that they can't tell a difference, but you'll have more self confidence with your new nose. Although you'll be able to notice improvement in the shape of your nose right away, you won't see the final results for up to 12 months.
